Keith Murray's "This That Shit" from Erick Sermon's classic "Insomnia" compilation gets the 45 treatment for the very first time, backed with the Sax remix of "The Most Beautifullest Thing In The World".
Onra, music producer from France and Pomrad, composer and multi-instrumentalist from Belgium come together as OXP for their first full-length - Swing Convention - on NBN records.
The collaborative effort features a diverse collection of vocalists and MC's, from newcomers - and NBN family - Devin Morrison and Ace Hashimoto to 90's stalwarts Domino & Horace Brown, former Onra collaborators T3 & Reggie B, East Coast legends Grand Puba and Pudgee The Phat Bastard, NY singers Maiya Blaney and Natalie Olivieri, Jamaican vocalist Ready Meahdy and French R&B queen K-Reen, all appearing on this smash debut!
Hailing from different backgrounds, the pair share similar musical influences, starting with a love of Hip-Hop and R&B to a wide range of anything Jazz or Funk & more. After collaborating on Onra's 2018 Nobody Has To Know album, they discussed the idea of working together in the studio by combining Onra’s production skills with Pomrad’s composition talent.
The idea of making classics with a contemporary sound has been conceptualized around the vintage synths and drum machines that marked the Golden Era of 90's Hip-Hop, R&B and G-Funk, using strictly analog gear to produce the album.
With the help of an All-Star cast, Onra X Pomrad aim to deliver a groovy mix of old school flavors with a fresh sound, something for both new and old generations.
This time stepping into the spotlight of the instrumental series: Hubert Daviz – a longtime companion, who has been influencing the label’s own beat productions substantially since its foundation.
Hubert Daviz dances on eight stops alongside the time stretch line. In doing so, he moves between shuffled, spherically reverberating grooves planting themselves on strung-out sample layers. His perfectly compressed kick drums punch into the enjoyingly exceeding noisy background like a cushy, jellyfish-like bomb.
In the end, crafting together with Wun Two, collaborating with Anthony Drawn cool-jazzing on the saxophone or Ferdinand Schwarz spookingly playing the trumpet is just the icing on the cake for the well-thought arrangements.
Believe it or not, that’s some real gourmet shit!
Sichtexotica V is being released on the 3rd of June 2020, as usual as a 10“, limited to 500 hand numbered copies with exquisite cover artwork from Mathilda Mutant.

Figub Brazlevič needs no introduction - his unique trademark sound is one of a kind. For many years he has been globetrotting, networking and releasing countless records - many of which are rare collectors’ items nowadays.
In 2020 the Berlin-based beat maker is hitting the stores with „Moabit - From Ghettos to Galaxies“. This 2LP compilation is a very special release that shouldn’t be misunderstood. It features all tracks from two previous projects as well as another exclusive instrumental. Originally released in two super rare, strictly limited vinyl editions both albums became instant classics. Being sold out for years and only available for horrific prices on Discogs, Figub is giving the music back into the hands of all of his fans. This should by no means let down the first hour collectors! It rather counters the development of record traders making enormous profits off of limited records - with no share for the artists themselves. With that being said… Records are for the people! Figub is for the people! So get your copy, sit back & enjoy this sonic trip: Moabit - From Ghettos to Galaxies.
Strictly limited edition of 300 copies on black vinyl.

It’s been a year and 3 months since the foreigner arrived at the Land of the Samurai.
The epic sequel continues where our young hero Rai is on a quest to find his way back home and regain his memories that he once lost. Learning the way of the samurai, Rai has become highly skilled in his swordsmanship under the tutelage of Hachiro Sensei. Rai has matured but understands that there is plenty more room for growth. During this time on top of the vibrant Yama no aki, Hachiro reveals some clues in regards to how he can return home.
He explains that in order for him to go back home, he would have to face the shogun of this land in a 1-on-1 duel. That’s all he is able to share, but what Hachiro and Rai don’t know is that the shogun is also a foreigner and as to who the foreigner is, well…it happens to be Rai brother.

10 previously unreleased beats from an old DAT. These were made by Evil Ed in 2002 on the Akai S950 in the same sessions as the beats made for the 'The Tournament Round Two EP' and the first batch for 'The Enthusiast' album.
One of the finest artists to emerge from the 90s independent hip hop scene, Toronto MC Mathematik stood out from the crowd with his reflective and intricately crafted wordplay on classic releases such as the Down To Erf EP and Ecology LP. This tradition continues on the H2O EP, featuring Math's trademark meticulous flow over ethereal production from Debonair P.
Rap duo Real II Reel aka Phatheadz was formed in 1990 by Ed Gledhill aka Ease and Nick D’Amato aka Nick Nice. The boys grew up in Pennsauken NJ just outside of Philly and met while in high school. They started rapping in their late teens and pressed their first 12 “ in 1990 [2 Def – Soul On A Roll] which featured none other than DJ Royal Rocker from Krown Rulers out of Camden supplying the cuts. Ed was lucky enough [his words] to gain an internship at a studio to learn engineering and that afforded him the time to concentrate on his own production work. Most of the songs back then were recorded onto ADAT. Ed used a Yamaha S-760 for sampling and Roland equipment for beats, sounds and interface for a program called Master Tracks.
They changed the name to Phatheadz shortly after the 12″ dropped because, as they felt, times were changing and the play on numbers in groups titles was getting old [and also maybe because there was a house act called Real II Real?]. They were close with a deal at Ruff House records outta Philly around 1993-1994 but unfortunately it fell through. As with many artists of a certain age, they felt they were getting older and had lives and families and responsibilities and they lost the drive to do it anymore but we are pleased to say they remained friends to this day.
Props to the fellas for letting us do this project and supplying four previously unheard and unreleased heaters. Peep the snippets yo – this is CLASSIC, slept on 93 ish!!!! Special Thanks to Onur – 1
Back at it again for the 2nd volume, the elusive Real Bad Man continues to bring that slimey grimey heat you've come to expect from an RBM release. This time around, the Los Angeles based RBM kicks it (again!) with some of the best MC’s in the game, curating a line up that puts most rap festivals to shame...Boldy James, Willie the Kid, Flee Lord, Eto, Elcamino, Blu, Lojii as well as rap icons like the Wu-master The Rebel INS aka Inspectah Deck and the one and only Plug One aka De La Soul’s Posdnuos, lace five enormously fat tracks sure to blow out the speakers in your mom’s Jeep.
Friday May 8th marks the Vinyl and Digital release of ON HIGH ALERT Volume 2, the on-going producer focus series with Real Bad Man, as always, handling all production, arranging and design duties.
A CD version combining Volumes 1&3 is up next, followed by Volume 3 in July. We said this was only the beginning…and we weren’t lying.
Strictly limited edition of 300 copies on green and red coloured vinyl. Comes in UV-finished gatefold sleeve with black poly-lined innersleeves.
Originally released in 1996 on Lethal Records, the entire album "Sex, Props, Cream ... And The Drama In Between" by Long Island's Punk Barbarians finally gets a proper re-release on 2LP and cassette. The original 1LP missed a few tracks off the album, so this is actually the very first time you can hear the full release on your turntable.
In November 1996, The Source gave 3 and a half mic's and here's what Miles Marshall Lewis wrote about the Punk Barbarians debut album: "It seems like recently in rap, everybody's album is based on one of these three concepts, but they're not dealing with the reality of the drama in between," says Doozer mid album, discussing Sex, Props, Cream & The Drama In Between title of his Punk Barbairan crew's debut album. The PBs - Sunny Cheeba, Bam Bam, Doozer and Renegade (aka Shine On) - arrive to a ravaged hip-hop landscape with high aspirations: detailing the drama in between libido, recognition and economics could fill 14 albums, much less the 14 tracks on Sex, Prop, Cream - in essence merely struggle - is, after all, the basis of life itself.
With their work cut out for them, the Punk Barbarians still manage to leave a strong mark. Their lively interplay - with an engaging reminiscent of an Onyx or Lost Boyz - sounds honest, like a crew that's been together since the sandboxes of their native Long Island. The fousome bounce off each other like perfectly arranged quadraphonic accoustics, particularly with thepulsing "Blast Off" and the Spanish-guitar textured "Sweets". Jazzy production includes snippets of vibe and harp that echo masters like Lionel Hampton and Alice Coltrane, while simultaneously evoking the aesthetic feel of The Low End Theory. Some tracks - "The Struggle" (which features Donald Byrd) and "You Don't Know" - ride the line between simple influence and imitation of Tribe's jazz-rap masterpice, but with an intuitive understanding rather than mere bastardization.
"Hooptie Car" shins as a diamond in the rough, dreamily escapist like the Pharcyde's "Passing Me By". As Sunny and Doozer reference Grce Jones and Donna Summer - "Pull up to my bumper," "Toot toot, ah, beep beep" - in mid-rhyme, the irony of this track's dopeness sets in. Because while the Punk Barbarians allude to "Malcolm, Martin and Marcus and W.E.B." on "Rest In Peace" and speak of how their rhymes are "killing you like daily intakes of swine," on "Magic," their real flavor is best presented on frivolous cut like "Hooptie Car."
Sex, Props, Cream & The Drama In Between remains an excellent starting point for the PB quartet, and unless their name erects an Alkaholis-like stumbling block, they should have time to display an interesting evolution.
For many fans "Wakilisha" by rapper Ryler Smith and producer Mz Boom Bap is nothing less than an underground classic of the modern jazz rap and boombap scene. Accordingly, they were excited about the successor "Vers Libre" and will not be disappointed. The Portuguese boombap hero Mz Boom Bap provides the perfect base for the diverse flows of the English-speaking MC Ryler Smith from Zurich. The songs are beaming you directly back to the Queensbridge of the early 90s with a modern update from 2020.
